India: Power costs in Bihar to rise as BERC hikes tariffs by 24% for FY24

The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) has increased power tariffs by 24.1% or INR 1.61/unit to INR 8.31/unit for the next fiscal year (FY24) from INR 6.71/unit at present, a circular issued by the state board on 23 March showed. The new tariff rates will be applicable from 1 Apr’23. This will increase the electricity bills of the rolling mills in the state.
