Indonesia: Steel billets imports slump 50% m-o-m in Jan’23

Indonesia’s steel billets imports witnessed a sharp decrease of 50% m-o-m to 205,237 t in Jan’23 as against 406,192 t in Dec’22, as per customs data.
Oman was the largest exporter with 80,570 t followed by China with 39,357 t.
On a y-o-y basis, the import volume rose by 5% compared to 195,536 t in Jan’22.
