India: Karnataka Iron Ore E-auction receives Poor Response

Iron ore e-auction held on 12 May, 2015 received a poor response with only 0.38 MnT of the raw material being sold. The material was offered by NMDC Kumarswamy mines & private miners. Out of the allotted quantity, 0.28 MnT was fines & rest comprised of lump.

NMDC sold 0.16 MnT of the raw material. NMDC lump (Fe 62.8%) fetched flat bids and was sold at INR 2,560/MT (basic). NMDC fines (Fe 59.7%) was sold at INR 1,280/MT.

Lump (Fe 60.9 %) offered by private mines was allotted at INR 2,380/MT. Fines (Fe 58.4%) was sold at INR 1,000/MT.

JSW Steel was the largest buyer at 0.2 MnT followed by BMM Ispat & Jayalaxmi Mineral.
