China: Unwrought aluminium exports drop 15% y-o-y in Jan-Feb’23

China’s exports of unwrought aluminium stood at 0.88 mnt in Jan-Feb’23, down 15% from 1.03 mnt in Jan-Feb’22. The overall aluminium production of the country was hampered due to the Chinese New Year holidays and also the challenging cold weather conditions that resulted in power restrictions. Thus, local smelter output was curtailed, impacting China’s overall production and exports of unwrought aluminium.
