China: Steel exports up 50% y-o-y in Jan-Feb’23

China’s steel exports rose 49% y-o-y to 12.19 mnt in Jan-Feb’23 period compared to 8.18 mnt in the same period last year, as per General Administration of Customs data. Export volumes increased mainly due to the recovery in global demand. In addition, Chinese mills offered competitive prices compared to steel from other origins.
