World crude steel output drops 3% y-o-y in Jan’23: WSA

Crude steel output of the 64 countries tracked by the World Steel Association (WSA) fell by 3.3% y-o-y to 145.3 mnt in Jan’23. However, output rose by 3% m-o-m as against 140.7 mnt in Dec’22.

• China’s output increased by 2.3% to 79.5 mnt.
• India’s production dropped 0.2% to 10.9 mnt.
• Japan’s output declined by 6.9% to 7.2 mnt.
