USA: Ferrous scrap exports inch down by 3% y-o-y in CY22

USA’s ferrous scrap exports edged down by 3% to 17.09 mnt in CY22 from 17.6 mnt in CY21, as per customs data.
Mexico emerged as the largest importer at 3.39 mnt followed by Turkiye and India at 3.37 mnt and 1.75 mnt respectively.
Export volumes in Dec’22 rose by 23% m-o-m to 1.48 mnt as against 1.2 mnt in Nov’22 on increased buying from India and Turkiye.
