China: Steel billet prices edge up by RMB 20/t ($3/t)

  • Domestic billet prices in China’s Tangshan increased d-o-d by RMB 20/t ($3/t) to RMB 3,770/t ($553/t), inclusive of 13% VAT on 14 Feb’23.
  • Hike in futures and stability in finished steel prices have supported billet prices, SteelMint notes.
  • China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for May’23 delivery closed today at RMB 4,027/t ($591/t), a rise of RMB 34/t ($5/t) d-o-d.
