USA: Steel billets imports fall by 39% y-o-y in CY22

USA’s steel billets imports fell by 39% y-o-y in CY22 to 3.23 mnt from 5.26 mnt in CY21, as per data recently released by customs.
Brazil was the largest exporter with 1.63 mnt, followed by Mexico with 806,668 t in CY22.
Import volumes fell by 26% m-o-m to 113,319 t in Dec’22 as against 153,806 t in Nov’22.
