Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) has invited bids for development of Damlai lignite project in Bharuch through the mine operator developer (MDO) mode. The mining contract would be awarded to the MDO for a minimum of 7 years. The last date of bid submission is 14 Apr’23. GMDC currently operates five lignite projects across Gujarat. In FY’22, it produced 8.58 mnt of lignite.
