India: MCL’s Kaniha project achieves FY’23 coal production target

The Kaniha coal project of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd has achieved its annual coal production target of 10 mnt for FY’23. During Apr’22-Jan’23, coal production from the mine increased 27% y-o-y to 10.02 mnt. Kaniha is among the largest coal producing mines of MCL. MCL’s total production in FY’23 has crossed 150 mnt for the second straight year.
