Indonesia: Ferrous scrap imports decline 17% y-o-y in CY’22

Indonesia’s ferrous scrap imports stood at 1.19 mnt in CY’22, decreasing by 17% y-o-y as compared to 1.44 mnt in CY’21, according to SteelMint data.
Australia was the largest exporter at 0.37 mnt followed by Hong Kong and Singapore at 0.33 mnt and 0.19 mnt, respectively.
Indonesia’s scrap imports in Dec’22 stood at 98,116 t, increasing by 34% m-o-m as compared to 72,952 t in Nov’22.
