China: Iron ore spot prices fall d-o-d on weak steel demand

Spot prices of benchmark iron ore Fe62% fines fell by $2.2/t d-o-d to $124.05/t CFR China on 6 Feb’23 due to weaker than expected downstream steel demand. Steel demand is still weak after the Lunar New Year holidays, falling short of market expectations. Despite the increased seaborne trading activity, iron ore prices fell on the day.
