Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market dropped INR 500/t d-o-d on 4 Feb’23. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 38,600/t exy. A downward correction in semi-finished steel prices and moderate buying inquiries for scrap prompted Alang scrap suppliers to reduce their offers.
