India’s total automobile production was recorded at 25.85 million units (MU) in calendar year 2022 (CY22), according to provisional data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) maintained by SteelMint. Production volume registered a 7.4% y-o-y growth compared to 24.06 MU in CY21. Meanwhile, cumulative automobile sales rose by 12.2% y-o-y to 20.75 MU in CY22 compared to 18.49 MU in the previous year.
