Vizag Steel has floated a global tender to procure 100,000 MT Iron ore fines & lumps for Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant.
Indian Steel giant, Vizag Steel, is planning to procure 50,000 MT Iron ore fines and 50,000 MT Iron ore lumps for its Vishakhapatnam Steel plant.The shipment should be arranged in FOBT and CFR basis.
The company intends to procure the entire quantity from a single source against each chemical specification mentioned below:

Offers for less than 50,000 MT for both Iron fines & lumps, either from overseas or indigenous sources, will not be accepted. Also, if the material has to be delivered from indigenous source by rail, it should not be less than 12 rakes i.e. around 48,000MT (1 rake=4,000 MT).
Eligibility Criteria: Interested participants must be established agencies managing and controlling Iron ore mines or producers of Iron ore fines & Iron ore lumps.
Quotation of Prices: In case of overseas suppliers, the quotations must be give in USD or EURO/MT. In case of indigenous suppliers, the prices should be quoted in INR/MT.
Delivery: Delivered quantity by sea from overseas & indigenous sources should be 50,000 MT +/-5% per month, whereas delivery should be 12 rakes in 1 lot/month from indigenous source by rail.
Last date of submission of quotations on or before 06 May’15 at 10.30 hrs.
Note: Earlier, the company had floated a tender to procure 200,000 MT Iron ore (100,000 MT Iron fines and 100,000 MT Iron lumps) in the month of September, 2014 with scheduled technical bids to be closed on 15 Dec’14. Later, it was extended to 13 Feb’15.
