China: Steel billets prices stable d-o-d, rebar futures edge down

Domestic billets prices in China’s Tangshan remained stable d-o-d at RMB 3,730/t ($543/t), inclusive of 13% VAT, on 5 Jan’23.
Steady finished steel prices has supported billets prices, SteelMint notes.
However, China’s SHFE rebar futures contract for May’23 delivery closed today at RMB 4,017/t ($584/t), a marginal decrease of RMB 10/t ($1/t) d-o-d.
