Mehta Trading Corporation (MTC), one of the top Indian importers of Scrap, is to import 60,000 MT Iron ore from South Africa. The day of departure was 25 Mar’15 from Saldahna Bay (South Africa) and the shipment is expected to arrive at Krishnapatnam Port on 10 Apr’15 in a vessel named MV Devongate.
In FY15, the nation’s Iron ore import witnessed an unexpected rise and reached the peak level of 15 MnT on the backdrop of declining global prices of the raw material and several mining restrictions imposed by the Supreme Court.
Currently, Iron ore lump (Fe 64%; 10-40 mm) is offered at an average price of USD 78/MT, CIF India.
