Industries using unapproved fuels, including coal will be closed down from 1 Jan’23 and heavy compensation will be imposed on them, said Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM). The ban on heavy polluting fuels like coal, naphtha and light diesel oil (LDO) will come into effect from 1 Jan. NCR uses 1.7 mnt of coal annually in its industrial application.
