Coal India subsidiary, South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL), has awarded tenders for Madannagar and Pelma coal projects under mine-developer-operator (MDO) mode. The contract for Madannagar was finalised at a mining charge of INR 1,180/t and that for Pelma at INR 849/t. These projects have combined peak rated capacity of 27 mnt/annum. Till date, CIL has awarded 9 contracts under MDO mode.
