Textile mills in Surat, Gujarat were shutdown due to high coal prices and supply shortage. Sources informed around 15 textile dyeing and printing mills have been forced to shut down due to high raw material costs. President of South Gujarat Textile Association has requested Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) to raise the supply and reduce lignite coal prices.
