Vietnam: Coal demand from power sector to go up to 45 mnt in 2023 says EVN

Vietnam’s coal demand is expected to increase in 2023 to 45.89 mnt, as per state power producer, Vietnam Electricity (EVN). The company’s 2023 coal demand is expected at 17.96 mnt. For CY22(Jan-Nov), Vinacomin supplied 15.64 mnt of coal to EVN and is expected to touch 16.91 mnt by Dec’22. The rising coal demand in power industry is expected to reduce pithead stocks of Vinacomin to 1.5 mnt by year-end.
