China: Spot iron ore prices rise on tight Brazilian supply

The spot prices of iron ore in China improved d-o-d as participants anticipated a lower supply of Brazilian cargo due to heavy rainfall. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices increased by $3.75/t to $114.25/t CFR China on 21 Dec’22. According to sources, Brazil’s seasonal rainy season starts in December, and traders are actively trying to secure Brazilian cargoes ahead of seasonal supply disruptions.
