South African chrome ore (40-42%) spot prices increased w-o-w to USD 235/dmt as transactional prices rose. Meanwhile, offers remained elevated and firmer. Suppliers of deliverable cargo intended to raise prices, resulting in a significant increase in transactional price and spot cargo. Because ferro chrome producers who need to sustain production must inquire around and procure at high prices in order to maintain normal operation.
