Amid improved buying from Sponge iron producers, Iron Pellet prices in eastern India have gained strength and moved up by INR 300-600/MT.
Pellet prices in eastern India have gone up INR 300-600/MT W-o-W. Pellet prices in Durgapur have increased by INR 600/MT W-o-W and are currently hovering in the range of INR 6,900-7,200/MT for Fe 63% Pellets. Pellet prices in Barbil have also moved up by INR 200/MT W-o-W. Owing to logistic problems of Iron ore, Pellets are being used. Being non-operational, some Pellet plants are unable to offer Pellets in the market.
As per sources, “Prices fell marginally in Central India. In Raipur, prices are around INR 6,300-6,400/MT for Fe 64% Pellets. Demand continues to remain low this week.”
In southern India, Pellet prices have corrected slightly by INR 150/MT W-o-W on the backdrop of subdued demand and are at INR 6,250/MT for Fe 61% Pellets.
