Steel Authority of India (SAIL), India’s largest steelmaker, is offering about 80,000 MT Steel grade Pig iron in the domestic market from its Rourkela (Odisha) plant through open sales offers.
Current offers are INR 20,100/MT (ex-works) for road and INR 20,200/MT for rail, with an additional discount of up to INR 2,000/MT for bulk quantity.

Last week SteelMint reported that increasing supply of Pig iron by SAIL and other big steel manufacturers have worried the merchant Pig iron manufacturers.
Recently, another steel giant and primary Pig iron manufacturer, RINL has cut Pig iron prices by INR 1,000/MT for March deliveries. Falling Pig iron prices in the global market has led to lower realizations in exports, leading company to offer at reduced price of INR 19,300/MT, ex-works in the domestic market.
