India: STC tenders for 5 MnT Imported Steam Coal Purchase

STC has floated a global tender for purchase of 5 MnT imported Steam coal on the behalf of HPGCL and Jhajjar Power Limited (JPL) on CIF & High Seas Sales basis; will en-route via any port of Western Coast India.

State Trading Corporation of India Limited (STC) has intended to purchase imported Steam coal on behalf of HPGCL (Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited) and Jhajjar Power Limited. The total quantity to be purchased is to meet the operational requirement of HPGCL & Jhajjar Power Limited. Out of the total quantity, 3 MnT will be required by HPGCL and 2 MnT by JPL.

The material needed under this tender is for HPGCL’s TPS (Panipat Thermal Power station, Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant-Yamunanagar, Rajiv Gandhi Thermal Power Plant- Hisar) and JPL’s Mahatma Gandhi Thermal Power Plant, Jhajjar.

Bidders qualifying criteria for participation in this tender will include supply experience of minimum 1 MnT imported coal during preceding 12 months and annual turnover of more than INR 5 billion. Also, bidder must mention the name of Western Coast port for easy evaluation of bids.

Required Quantity Breakup

Quantity increased/decreased (upto 15%)

Supplier should arrange vessels of suitable sizes to deliver the respective quantity of coal over a period of 18 months to HPGCL, TPS & JPL with following tentative delivery schedule.

For HPGCL- Min qty per month: 80,000 MT and max qty per month: 150,000 MT
For JPL- Min qty per month: 115,000 MT and max qty per month: 230,000 MT

Last date for submission of bids will be 30 Mar’15 till 14.00 hrs.
