South Africa: Chrome ore exports down 6% m-o-m in Oct’22

South Africa’s chrome ore exports dropped by 6% m-o-m to 1.18 mnt in Oct’22 compared to 1.25 mnt in Sep’22. Transportation activity in the country remained affected by the Transnet’s strike which impacted the availability of chrome ore. Meanwhile, South Africa’s total exports of chrome ore stood at 11.86 mnt in Jan-Oct’22, an increase of 3% y-o-y in the CPLY.
