Europe: Environment committee specifies scrap shipments

European Parliament clarified scrap shipment reforms following the vote of the ENVI, yesterday. The revised regulations which fit environmental and social standards can be permitted scrap shipments to OECD nations but prohibit exports to non-OECD members. Further, non-OECD nations who agree and can treat this trash responsibly will be permitted to export non-hazardous waste.
