Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 1,000/t d-o-d on 30 Nov’22. As per SteelMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 38,500/t exy. Semi-finished steel prices moved up by INR 700/t to INR 44,300/t exw in Bhavnagar yesterday. This coupled with active buying inquires for scrap prompted suppliers to increase their offers.
