Japan: Copper production decreases by 7% in Oct’22 on weak demand

  • The production of copper wrought in Oct’22 were 63,320 t in Japan, a fall of 7% y-o-y, as per Japan Metal Daily (JMD).
  • Similarly, copper strips fell 3% y-o-y for the second consecutive month.
  • Bearish demand of housing equipment or white goods resulted in limited production of finished products. These also delayed construction of new properties.
