China: Spot iron ore prices rise amid constant market fundamentals

The spot prices of iron ore in China improved d-o-d despite largely unchanged weak market fundamentals. Benchmark Fe 62% fines prices increased by $1/t to $95.20/t CFR China on 23 Nov’22. The Chinese market for iron ore remained sluggish due to the depressing Covid-19 environment and weak market demand outlook, as the majority of steel mills continue to face losses.
