China’s manganese ore imports decreased by 16% m-o-m to 2.63 mnt in Oct’22 against 3.126 mnt in Sep’22, as per Customs. The major exporter was South Africa (1.455 mnt), Gabon (0.598 mnt), and Australia (0.399 mnt) in September due to good demand for manganese alloys in the market. Hence, manufacturers increased their inventory. However, cumulative imports dropped by 3% y-o-y to 24.890 mnt in Jan-Oct’22.
