Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market surged by INR 4,000/t d-o-d on 19 Nov’22. As per SteelMint’s assessment, HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 40,000/t ex-yard. The removal of export duty on steel products was the key reason behind the recovery in scrap prices. Rolling material prices were not opened by sellers at the time of reporting.
