China: Electricity consumption of ferrous metal smelting industry falls 5% in Jan-Oct’22

In Jan-Oct’22, the electricity consumption of the ferrous metal smelting industry was 508.7 billion kwh, down 4.9% y-o-y. On the other hand, the electricity consumption of the non-ferrous metal smelting industry was 618.2 billion kwh, an increase of 2.9% on the year, as per data provided by the China Electricity Council. China’s steel production fell over 2% y-o-y during the same period.
