Global traders are offering Met coke (CSR 65) in the range of USD 190-192/MT, CFR West Coast of India. While, CSR 64 material is at USD 187-188/MT (or USD 176-178/MT FOB China, with negotiation by up to USD 2-3/MT) and CSR 62 Met coke at USD 183-186/MT East Coast of India. Freight rate is USD 13/MT for standard size cargo of 30,000 MT.
Traders said, “Prices have bottomed out at current levels and post Chinese New Year holidays, it may not possibly fall by more than 1-1.5%, unlike last year’s big correction when prices were at substantially healthy levels.
Demand for Chinese Met coke, which is available in good quantity and supported by zero export duty and low freight charges, has improved. Waiting period at Indian ports has lessened and domestic prices remain unaltered. In addition, due to Chinese New Year holidays from 18-24 Feb’15, we anticipate loading to take place around 2nd week of Mar’15”.

Gujarat based importer is expecting vessel Kayu Ramin, which is carrying 44,000 MT Chinese Met coke (40% of BF grade & 60% of mid-sized), to arrive at Hazira Port on 17 Feb, 2015. BF grade Met coke (20-60 mm) was booked at around USD 195/MT, CFR India and mid-sized material (40-80 mm) at nearly USD 192/MT, CFR India in Dec’14.
While, vessel Torn Regina carrying 20,100 MT Russian Nut coke is at anchorage at Haldia port since 02 Feb, 2015. The material was booked at around USD 210/MT CNF Haldia port.
5-15 mm (FC 85%) Nut coke is being offered at USD 180/MT, CFR India and 10-30 mm at USD 185-187/MT, CFR India. While, 3-10 mm Coke fines/breeze (FC 83%) is being offered at USD 135-137/MT, CFR India.
