South Africa: Transnet declares force majeure as violent clash breaks out

Transnet has declared force majeure on its operations and has withdrawn teams from the site of the train derailment to RBCT Port after a violent clash broke out with the Ulundi Business Forum supplying equipment to assist in derailment recovery. The development is likely to disrupt coal export operations, although its impact is yet to be seen on RB1 coal prices, which are declining over the past three weeks.
