Prices for spot metallurgical coking coal remained stagnant while
the buying interest from china remained strong.
Currently, the Premium Low-volume material is hovering at
around $174/MT (FOB Australia). Whereas, 64 mid volume is around $158/MT with
Panamax freight costing about $15 to India.
However , BHP Billiton-Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) offered shipments
for March loading premium hard coking
coal to Asian steelmakers at $173/MT (FOB Australia), said sources. According
to market participants the price offers are higher by $7-9/MT compared to
prices offered in February.
