European Parliament to vote on scrap export regulation on 1 Dec’22

The revised Waste Shipment Regulation (WSR) will be brought to a referendum on 1 Dec’22, according to the ENVI of the European Parliament.
However, the European recycling sector says that there is enough excess scrap on the continent and that an export restriction is unnecessary.
It also says that exporting surplus steel scrap may help reduce global CO2 emissions and should not be considered as waste.
