Indonesia: 21 coal producers probed for false mining permit

Indonesian authorities are probing 21 coal producers in east Kalimantan province accused of holding fake mining business permits (IUPs). Mining activities in the country can only begin after obtaining an IUP granted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. Indonesian miners are facing supply tightness as Chinese demand renewed and demand is increasing with the winters approaching.
