- China’s steel imports in Jan-Oct’22 fell by 23.03% to 9.12 mnt as against 11.84 mnt in the same period last year, as per data recently released by Customs.
- Preference for domestic steel, weak end-user demand and subdued finished steel sentiments continued to weigh on imports.
- Imports in Oct’22 stood at 77,000 t, down by 13% m-o-m as compared to 89,000 t in September.
