Iron ore sales through Karnataka e-auctions have increased considerably by 76% M-o-M from 1.5 MnT in Dec’14 to 2.64 MnT in Jan’15.
Iron ore sales via Karnataka e-auctions have surged to 2.64 MnT in Jan’15 making it to be the highest sales in this fiscal. Out of 5.62 MnT Iron ore offered, 2.64 MnT has been sold. In Jan’15, NMDC sold 1.13 MnT Iron ore via e-auctions, while, private miners sold 1.51 MnT.

E-auctions fetched flat bids in Jan’15. NMDC’s price for lump (Fe 62%) was INR 3,615/MT and fines (Fe 60%) at INR 2,545/MT. While, private miners prices for fines (Fe 61.57%) at INR 2,650/MT, lump (Fe 62.41%) at INR 3,500/MT and ROM (Fe 45%) at INR 450/MT. Subgrade ROM (Fe 50%) was sold at INR 1,470/MT.
Largest buyer was JSW Steel at 1.5 MnT, followed by Jayalaxmi Mineral (0.54 MnT) and BMM Ispat (0.15 MnT).
