Tata Steel, which is setting up a 6 mtpa integrated steel plant is expected to commission their first phase by the second half of 2014, according to Mr. Anand Sen, Vice President,TQM and head Kalinga Nagar Project. Earlier, the company had set a timeline to start production by March 2014. “ We are expecting to commission the first phase by the by the second half of 2014. We are using state of the art technology to use both the lumps and the fines in this plant “he said today. However he didn't give any specific timeline for the commissioning.
In the first phase the company is investing Rs. 25000 crore and the plant would concentrate on producing flat products useful for the white goods and automobile industry.
