Japan: Aluminium imports drop 5% m-o-m in Sep’22

Japan’s aluminium imports decreased 5% to 231,660 t in Sep’22 as against 243,289 t in the previous month.
Australia was the largest exporter at 41,368 t, followed by the UAE at 33,543 t and China at 27,421 t.
On a y-o-y basis, import volumes fell marginally by 1.25% as against 234,604 t in Sep’21. Overall imports in Jan-Sep’22 were at 2.27 mnt.
