China: Ferro chrome imports almost stable m-o-m in September

Chinese high carbon ferro chrome imports inched down by 1% m-o-m to 232,594 t in Sep’22 compared to 234,977 t in Aug’22. The major importing countries to China were South Africa at 154,199 t, Kazakhstan at 31,676 t, and Zimbabwe at 22,996 t. The domestic stainless market saw very good demand for ferro chrome as SS production has increased. However, cumulative imports slid by 16% y-o-y to 1.773 mnt in Jan-Sep’22.
