Chhattisgarh (CG) based Sponge iron units have reduced their purchases of Iron ore from NMDC by 15% in the month of Jan’15.
It was reported that NMDC (CG) dispatched 74 rakes of Iron ore in the month of Jan’15, which was decreased against 87 rakes in the month of Dec’14. Each rake carries approximately 3,850 MT.
Iron ore dispatches have gone down on lower offers by private miners based in Odisha, who have cut prices to an extent of INR 1,000/MT in January.
Steel & Sponge manufacturers in Chhattisgarh highlighted that net landed cost of Iron ore from Odisha is cheaper by atleast INR 700-800/MT.
