Ship-breaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang market rose by INR 600/t d-o-d on 22 Oct’22, as per SteelMint assessment. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 40,800/t exy. Rising semi-finished steel prices in major markets and moderate buying interest for scrap by the induction furnace mills in Bhavnagar, Gujarat prompted suppliers to hike their offers, sources informed.
