Country-wise exports – August 2022

The UAE remained the most preferred export destination with 65,213 t. These volumes were substantially down by 65% and overall contributed 17% of total exports out of India, followed by the Netherlands at 52,936 t — which were sharply up 337% and contributed 14% of total exports. Other countries like the US, Japan, and Taiwan recorded 14,917 t (-2%), 10,498 t (+120%), and 7,715t (-30%) respectively in August.

Factors that could be attributed to the fall in export volumes were limited supplies to usual destinations like Turkey, the UAE, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Further, supportive automobile sales along with improved housing sales in major urban cities in Indian may be the possible reasons for restrained monthly export volumes in August 2022.
