Global coal market is currently quite dull as Chinese
manufacturers and traders are away on Lunar New Year holidays until the fresh
week begins on Monday.
Offers of both
thermal and coking material have been more or less stable, except for offers of
thermal coal coming from Indonesia that have softened.
Currently 3800 GAR material is available at $34/MT (FOB
South Kalimantan) and 4200 GAR at $41/MT (FOB) with unchanged offers, whereas
price for 6000 NAR South African grade is at $84/MT (FOB Richards Bay).
Market for coal (thermal and coking) is expected to continue
an up-ride once the Chinese buyers are back in the market said an
importer based in Mumbai.
