India: Ferro silicon imports rise 9% m-o-m in Sep’22

India’s ferro silicon imports increased by 9% m-o-m to 20,200 t in Sep’22 against 18,499 t in August. The imports increased mainly from China (7,272 t), Malaysia (2,283 t), Norway (533 t), and France (403 t) as imported material was comparatively cheaper than domestic offers. This attracted Indian buyers’ interest in imported material. Cumulative imports fell by 8% q-o-q to 51,850 t in Q3CY’22 from 56,108 t in Q2CY’22.
